Many times we have the perfect embellishment for our card,layout or altered project, however, it is in the wrong color. So my challenge is for you to “alter” an embellishment to make it work with your page. In my example, Another Year, Another Photo Shoot I altered a couple of my embellishments. The brads in the center of the center green flowers was a Kelly green, so I added adhesive and sprinkled fine glitter on them. The red leather tag was actually grey so I used Tim Holtz Alcohol inks to change it to red. It worked like a charm! EEEK! I am so excited!

Just thought I would share with anyone who might actually read this. We are closing on our new house today...WOOHOO! As a matter of fact in 2 1/2 hours we should be getting ready to sign those papers. And I can not wait. Its much more room (almost twice what we have now) and I get my own scrap room. Can not get any better than that.
Once we take possession I will take some pictures and post them. I took some on my cell phone last night when we did our final walk-through but they are so blurry. So I will take some better ones before we move everything in.

I am trying to not look at all the sneak peeks posted every where. It is just too tempting to buy it all and unfortunately I can not do that. But look at these cute little bucket kits from Queen & Co.: QUEEN & CO.. Are they not the cutest thing ever. I love that they come with a variety of embellishments so there is plenty to choose from.

It's been a busy week...

Blake finally went back to school after missing all last week. And Of course classes started up for me again also. Even though I am only taking a couple classes, they seem to be work heavy. So they are keeping me super busy already. I have a fear I will forget to submit one of my assignments. There is just so much to keep organized.

On the house front, we are going to schedule a second walk through on the house we are looking at. We are leaving it in god's hands whether we get it or not. But I have been praying hard and have this incredible peace about this house. Dh on the other hand wants a sign. So I said I was gonna to photo shop a billboard into the photo of the house that is on the internet. That would be so funny.

I am hoping to get some scrapping in this weekend. There is an Extreme Crop at www.lifetimemoments.com this weekend to help those that are doing scrapfest get their points. I feel like I haven't been in the creative mind lately so hopefully this will help get my mojo back in full swing.

thats about it for an update. I hope life slows down a bit so I can keep my "resolution" and blog more.

It's 2009 and I am not off to a great start.

One of my goals for this year is to be a better blogger and already I am failing miserably! I said I would be better and blog at least once a week so I can say I am doing that since I did technically blog once this first week, but hopefully it will become more of a habit to come blog at least every few days. Now on with whats going on...

I am watching The Bachelor right now. I am so looking forward to watching this season because Jason is the bachelor. I just absolutely want him to fall in love and find the perfect match for him and Ty.

School started back for the kids today and DH went back to work today. After a couple weeks all together as a family, I think we all need a break...LOL Of course Blake was still home because he is still on his meds from having his tonsils out, and will be home probably a couple more days. But he is healing nicely and I think next week he will be back to his normal self. Or at least I hope so ;o)

Thats about it for an update. I hope to get some new LOs uploaded here on my blog in the next couple days, so check back soon for those.

One of my only two resolutions this next year is to be a better blogger. If for no other reason than to post more of my work which goes hand in hand with my other resolution to start submitting again. And I really do promise to do better...or at least try to do better.

Wow, has it really been almost 4 months!

I am such a bad bad blogger. I admit it. I was always a terrible diary keeper as well. So sorry about that. Not that I have any readers left. But just in case a few of you still peek occasionally to see if I just happened to update, I sincerely apologize.

So, what has been happening here in my little world? We have just gotten over the stomach virus in my house. Bleck! It all started with Becca, then hit Blake hard. It finally ended with Zach and me both getting sick the same day. Thankfully Lin took off work to take care of things the day I was sick. That helped a lot.

For those who are wanting to see Disney pictures, I will make a post on our trip soon. And yes, I do mean that. I will add a some of our favorite pictures.

As far as school goes, I will be taking one final this week and then my last final next week. Then I have no more school until January and so I will have a break and can focus on Christmas around here. I am so ready for a break from school. But next semester I am only taking two classes so it won't be quite as stressful.

Oh, and it actually snowed some today! It was just flurries and sleet but the kids were excited. It just made the roads wet but did accumulate on the cars so they did get to actually throw a few snowballs this morning. It was perfect for snowball making!

Well that's a quick update but I wanted to get something on here since it had been so long since I updated. I promise I will be back with more soon.

More layouts and cards and update on kids

So here are the three cards and five of the layouts I have gotten done in the past week. I figured with Blake entering second grade (tomorrow is the first day) then I should probably get the first day of first grade scrapped...LOL

And on that note, I can not believe the kids go back to school tomorrow. Zach is in 7th grade this year. I am having a hard time with this. I guess its just seems that he has grown up way too fast. Becca is in 5th grade. She got the same teacher Zach had. I really like this teacher so I'm happy with it. Blake is in 2nd and has the same teacher Becca had. I'm sure he will end up loving her as much as Becca did.

And Becca had her third and final (I hope) hearing test done today. She unfortunately does have minor hearing loss in both ears, but more so in the left year. But even though she would benefit from hearing aides, her doctor is afraid having hearing aids in her ears will cause her psoriasis in her ears to flair up worse. So she will get preferential seating in classes and we will see if that helps any.

Well thats it for now... it's starting to storm so I am going to have to shut the computer down for a little while.
